Motorola Solutions Venture Capital, the strategic equity investment arm of US-based communications equipment producer Motorola Solutions, has announced investments in UK-based mobile device analytics provider B2M Solutions and US-based profit amplification software provider Profitect.
The amount invested in either company was not disclosed.
Founded in 2002, B2M Solutions provides analytical tools to businesses that heavily rely on mobile devices, and will use the funding to further its marketing and sales activities.
The Profitect investment will be used to expand the company’s worldwide growth. Profitect, which raised $5.5m in 2009 from Genesis Partners and Cedar Fund, provides software that allows retailers to identify hidden insights and patterns in data, turning those into actionable data that can magnify profits.
Guy Yehiav, chief executive of Profitect, said: “The joint resources brought together by Motorola Solutions and Profitect will benefit our customers by making it easier for them to resolve and execute guided actions as well as keep up with the pace of today’s retail environment.”
