Japan-based mobile game developer MyNet has raised ¥730m ($6.2m) from investors including corporate-backed venture capital fund B Dash Ventures, The Bridge reported today.
The round also included Shinsei Corporate Investment and SMBC Venture Capital, the respective venture capital units of Japan-based Shinsei Bank and Sumitomo Mitsui Financial Group. Sumitomo Mitsui Bank also provided debt financing for MyNet alongside the equity.
Founded in 2006 as an online news and customer relationship management tools provider, MyNet now focuses on games and other entertainment apps for smartphones.
The funding will be used to hire new staff to support MyNet’s business growth, and to acquire new game titles from other developers.
