Mysec, a China-based verification software provider backed by conglomerate Legend Holdings, has raised RMB100m ($15.5m) in series B funding, DealStreetAsia reported yesterday.
The round was led by hedge fund manager Hillhouse Capital and Jiangmen Ventures, the investment firm formed by ex-members of corporate venturing unit Microsoft Ventures’ China team. They were joined by venture capital firm Bluerun Ventures.
Mysec has created an online security platform that utilises artificial intelligence and cloud computing technology. It was founded by former members of internet group Baidu’s cybersecurity laboratory.
Legend Holdings subsidiary Legend Star joined Bluerun Ventures to supply $3m in series A funding for the company in 2017. They returned for a series A-plus round in the eight-figure range in 2019 alongside Vision Knight Capital, according to DealStreetAsia.
