Nanit, the US-based creator of a smart baby monitor, has raised $6.6m in a series A round featuring supply chain services provider Flextronics.
Venture capital firm Upfront Ventures led the round, which included RRE Ventures, 645 Ventures, Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute and AME Cloud Ventures.
Nanit has built an advanced baby monitor that incorporates machine learning and advanced high-definition camera sensors to track and contextualise sleep events like interruptions. It links to an attendant app and results can be shared with family members or caregivers.
The system, which has been beta tested by families for the past six months, is due to begin shipping in September 2016.
