RelateIQ, a US-based developer of a relationship intelligence software platform, has secured $40m from investors including media conglomerate News Corp, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Venture capital firm Redpoint Ventures led the series C round, which also included Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Felicis Ventures, both of which, like News Corp, participated as new investors. The round valued RelateIQ at $245m.
Founded in 2011, RelateIQ’s software combines and analyses data from email systems, smartphone calls, and social networking accounts to provide reminders and suggestions to salespeople. It has now raised approximately $69m, and prior investors include SV Angel, Morgenthaler Ventures, Accel Partners, Stage One Capital, Formation 8 and Battery Ventures.
Steve Loughlin, RelateIQ’s CEO, told WSJ that the company would use the funding to increase its staff and develop its products, in particular its mobile device-oriented software.
