US-based mobile game developer Nifty Games has received more than $12m in a series A round featuring mobile game publisher Century Game and esports team owner and services provider Axiomatic Gaming.
The round was led by venture capital firm March Capital Partners and included Defy Partners, Vulcan Capital, Courtside Ventures, Transcend Fund and One Team Ventures, a fund co-founded by sports leagues the NFLPA, MLBPA, MLSPA, USWNTPA and WNBPA.
Founded in 2018, Nifty develops mobile multiplayer sports games and is preparing for the release of its first title, head-to-head American football-themed game NFL Clash, later this year.
Jon Middleton, Nifty’s chief executive, said: “The series A funding gives us the capital to continue to build great games and recruit top talent in the business as we ramp up to deliver the most authentic quick-play sports games that today’s mobile gamer deserves.”
Axiomatic led the startup’s $3m seed round in late 2018, investing alongside March Capital Partners, Defy Partners and individuals including Craig Fletcher, Trevor Wright, Kai Huang and Abhay Parek.
