US-based Nimboxx, a company that develops technology to manage multiple virtual computer systems, has closed a $12m series A funding round with investment from SMC Holdings, a Hong Kong-based industrial manufacturing company.
The news was announced as Nimboxx won the People’s Choice award at the Gigaom Structure 2014 Launchpad.
Rocky Bullock, chief executive of Nimboxx, said: “In the not-too-distant future, this will be recognised as a key step in the transformation that’s happening in the data centre today.
“Hyper-convergence vendors have come before us, but we’ve taken an entirely different approach, building the entire software-defined data centre stack from the bottom up. Our pilot results speak for themselves – the benefits of this approach are indisputable.”
