Dipchand ‘Deep’ Nishar has revealed he will leave telecommunications and internet group SoftBank’s fund management subsidiary SoftBank Investment Advisers (SBIA) at the end of 2021.
SBIA hired Nishar as a senior managing partner of Americas in 2015 to help the corporate identify and support developers of enterprise software, healthcare and frontier technologies through its Vision Funds.
Nishar has been involved in investments in some three dozen companies including 10x Genomics, Automation Anywhere, Cohesity and Collective Health.
Before joining SBIA, Nishar had been senior vice-president of products and user experience for professional networking platform operator LinkedIn for almost six years from 2009, leading diverse teams across product management, data science, user experience, web development, business development and online sales.
Concerning his time at SBIA, Nishar said on Twitter: “36 investments: eight initial public offerings, two mergers and acquisitions and two SPACs to date. What an amazing six years!
“Thanks to [SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son], [SBIA chief executive Rajeev Misra], [SBIA’s US head Ron Fisher] and the SoftBank platform for this incredible journey, and a seat at the head table of the artificial intelligence and biotech revolutions.”
