Nitrous.io, a US-based developer of an integrated development environment (IDE) for web applications that is backed by enterprise software provider Tibco Software, announced on Monday it will close its service.
Founded in 2012 as Action.io, Nitrous had produced a cloud-based IDE that software developers used to create and collaborate on code. It has not revealed the reason for its closure, stating only that the platform will be discontinued on November 14.
Tibco contributed to the company’s $1m Bessemer Venture Partners-led seed round in 2013, investing alongside Draper Associates, CrunchFund, 500 Startups, Golden Gate Ventures and angel investors Eduardo Saverin and Prosper Nwankpa.
Nitrous raised another $6.65m in a 2014 series A round featuring Bessemer Venture Partners, 500 Startups, Crunchfund, Eduardo Saverin and Golden Gate Ventures.
