US-based marketing technology startup Node has emerged from stealth with $16.3m in funding, $10.8m of which came from a series A round featuring social media company Gree.
The series A round was also backed by venture capital firms New Enterprise Associates (NEA), Canaan Partners and Industry Ventures, and angel investors Michael Stark and Mark Cuban.
Founded in early 2016, Node uses artificial intelligence technology to generate information on how people and companies relate to each other online. It has so far been working with a limited range of enterprise customers in stealth, but is now making its technology widely available.
Falon Fatemi, founder and CEO of Node, said: “90% of the information on the web was created in just the last two years and that pace is only increasing. Search is great when you know what you are looking for, but what about the people and companies on the web you do not know you should be looking for?
“With Node, we are creating a new paradigm in how people and businesses build connections and realise new opportunities. Helping companies discover their next best customers is just the start.”
The company’s seed funding came from NEA, Canaan Partners, Cuban, Avalon Ventures, CEB Ventures, Bee Partners and Sway Ventures.
