NPM, the US-based developer of a package manager for programming language JavaScript that is backed by event organiser Asynch Media, secured $8m in series A funding today.
Venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, which also included VC firm True Ventures.
NPM raised the funding concurrently with its launch of NPM Private Modules, which will allow its users to reuse private and confidential code at a cost of $7 per month. It claims more than 2,000 developers have agreed to trial the service.
Aysnch was one of the investors in NPM’s $2.6m seed round, which was closed in February 2014. That round also featured True Ventures and angel investors Matt Mullenweg, Jevon MacDonald, Gavin Uhma and Charles Beeler.
