US-based information security research and testing company NSS Labs secured $7m in series B funding on Tuesday from backers including Chevron Technology Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of energy company Chevron.
The debt and equity round also featured LiveOak Venture Partners, the venture capital firm that provided $4m in series A funding for NSS in 2013.
NSS Labs provides information to technology professionals, helping them to select and maintain complex security products for their organisations. It evaluates firewall, unified threat management, anti-malware, encryption, web application firewall and other technologies on a regular basis.
The financing will support the growth of the NSS Cyber Advanced Warning System, which was launched in March 2015. The system provides its users with information to help avoid cyberattacks, warning them when they are at risk of being breached.
