NuoDB nets $30m in new funding

Banking software provider Temenos has led a $30m funding round for US-based database platform developer NuoDB, Bostinno has reported, citing a regulatory filing.

Design software producer Dassault Systèmes also took part in the round, as did venture capital firms Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, Longworth Venture Partners and Morgenthaler Ventures.

NuoDB supplies distributed database software that is used by enterprise customers to create, update or move cloud applications to the cloud, and which can be used across public and private clouds as well as on-premise.

The company’s customers include both Dassault and Temenos, the latter of which entered into a technology partner agreement with it in November 2018, taking a minority stake in the business as part of the deal.

The latest round brings NuoDB’s funding to approximately $95m altogether, according to Bostinno. It follows a $17m round in 2016 that included Hummer Winblad, Longworth and Morgenthaler.

All three had previously combined with Dassult for the company’s $14.2m series B round two years earlier.

NuoDB CEO Bob Walmsley told Bostinno in an email: “This news comes on the heels of a successful year punctuated by impressive new customer wins, strategic technology partnerships and industry analyst validation, positioning NuoDB for transformative success in 2019.”
