Corporate venturing is on the rise as research shows venture investing is an effec- tive tool to help corporations access innovation. Corporate venturing membership of the NVCA is increasing across all industry sectors. I believe the mission of the corporate venture group is to connect, educate and share best practices for among its membership.
In 2013, the group will focus on:
Pay it back – Understand the various strategies corporate venturers use to capture innovation and transfer it to their parent organisation.
Pay it forward – Provide a variety of educational forums to share best practices among experienced corporate venturers and new entrants.
Strengthen the network – Create stronger connections between our members to foster dealflow sharing and increase the probability of corporate venturers co- investing to support new opportunities that span industry sectors.
I look forward to working with the NVCA, the corporate venture group advisory board and all the corporate venturing members to provide the tools and connec- tions to support this expanding and vital element of the venture capital ecosystem.
