Clean tech firm Black Coral Capital has invested $3m in OneRoof Energy, a US-based residential solar leasing company backed by Hanwha International, part of the South Korea-based Hanwha group.
OneRoof said it had secured the funds on April 5 "to expand current markets and launch new markets this year".One Roof said in a Securities and Exchange Commission filing on March 30 it was looking to raise as much as $7m from the round.
OneRoof Energy raised $50m from Black Coral, Hanwha International, and a U.S. Bancorp subsidiary in September last year.
Other prior investors in the company were the Quercus Trust, the US-based clean tech investment firm of David Gelbaum, Yellowtree Energy, and venture firm Spring Ventures, according to news provider FinSMEs.
