Ones wins $50m in series C round

Ones, a China-based research and development (R&D) software developer backed by internet and telecommunication conglomerate SoftBank, has raised $50m in series C funding.

Singaporean sovereign wealth fund GIC led the round, which also featured venture capital firms Source Code Capital and XVC.

Founded in 2015, Ones provides a variety of digital project management tools used by businesses to manage R&D initiatives. Several locally-based corporates are among its customers, including Xiaomi, China Telecom and SAIC Motor.

The company said in a blog post it has amassed nearly $100m of funding over the past six months and will continue to invest in its own R&D and services as well as grow its team.

Ones had raised $46.4m across series B1 and B2 funding rounds disclosed in June this year that included SoftBank unit Softbank China Capital in addition to XVC, Source Code Capital and 5Y Capital.

Private equity firm Vision Knight Capital led a $10m series B round for the company in December 2019 with contributions from China Growth Capital and 5Y Capital (then known as Morningside Venture Capital).

Morningside had joined Huachuang Capital in a series A-plus round of undisclosed size for Ones in 2017, after supplying an undisclosed amount of series A funding for Ones the year before.
