Legend Capital, conglomerate Legend Holdings’ corporate venturing arm, has provided RMB60m ($9.1m) in series A funding for China-based online education provider Zhiyou Education, China Money Network reported on Wednesday.
Zhiyou offers one-on-one tutoring services for K12 students. It claims to hire better quality tutors because the money saved from not maintaining a brick-and-mortar school allows it to pay its specialist staff more.
The series A capital follows an undisclosed amount of seed funding supplied by tutoring services firm Xueda Education, though Zhiyou has not disclosed when it received the capital.
