US-based data integration system developer Onna secured $27m yesterday in a series B round featuring Slack Fund, the corporate venturing vehicle for communication platform developer Slack.
Atomico led the round, which included fellow venture capital firms Dawn Capital and Nauta Capital as well as growth equity firm Glynn Capital.
Onna is developing a machine learning-equipped software tool that allows users to automate, synchronise and archive data on cloud-based enterprise software products including Slack, Salesforce and Dropbox.
The company’s technology helps customers comply with privacy policies such as those mandated by the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and the United States’ Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
Slack Fund had already invested in Onna through an $11m series A round in June 2019 led by Dawn Capital that featured data storage software provider Dropbox and Nauta Capital. The company had previously received $5m in an early 2018 round led by Nauta Capital.
Slack Fund director Jason Spinell said: “With this additional investment in Onna, we look forward to helping them realise their vision of building a knowledge integration platform that brings together all of a company’s sources of content, directly inside Slack.”
