Venture capital firm Ludlow Ventures yesterday joined corporate venturing fund Google Ventures in backing US-based food ordering mobile application (app) Ordr.in’s seed round.
Ordr.in partners with localised food ordering websites or apps and merges their data into an aggregated service that can be linked with outside apps using Ordr.in’s application programming interface (API), allowing food to be ordered at the same time as other services. Ordr.in is currently creating a Facebook app that would potentially make food orderable from any Facebook page.
Ludlow’s participation comes directly after Google Ventures’ involvement was disclosed at startup accelerator TechStars’ Demo Day in New York, where Techstars’ new portfolio companies showcase their idea to investors.
Ordr.in was one of 12 startups to be selected by TechStars, which typically invests $6,000 to $18,000 in a startup in return for a 6% stake, to present at the event, from a reputed 1,200 applications.
