Chairish, a US-based curated online marketplace for second hand home furnishings, has raised $3.2m in seed funding from venture capital firm Azure Capital Partners and O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures (OATV), the seed stage corporate venturing arm of US-based media company O’Reilly Media.
The capital will be used to accelerate Chairish’s growth and expand its marketplace.
Mark Jacobsen, managing director at OATV, said: “We are thrilled to once again back founding members of TripIt and Hotwire, and fully expect Chairish to disrupt the market for high-quality design furnishings by leveraging a focused peer-to-peer approach.”
Mike Kwatinetz, founding General Partner at Azure Capital Partners, said: “Azure believes curated commerce is the wave of the future and what could be better for us than to back an all-star team delivering this innovation and value to the $87 billion furniture market.”
Eric Grosse, president and co-founder of Chairish, said: “We started Chairish with the simple belief that selling and buying quality pre-owned furniture and decor should be easy and fun. This capital will help us create an even more delightful experience, expand seller services and reach more design-loving consumers nationwide.”
Chairish was established in 2011.
