Richard Osborn is set to join Telus Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of Canada-based telecommunications firm Telus, as its new managing director.
Osborn has been managing director of health and wellness-focused investment fund RecapHealth Ventures since it was founded in 2010, before which he was a partner at private equity firm Second City Capital Partners.
Prior to joining Second City in 2005, Osborn had co-founded venture capital fund Greenstone Venture Partners in 1998 and non-profit investment organisation Social Venture Partners in 2001.
Osborn will join Telus Ventures on February 22, at which point he will manage a portfolio that includes e-invoicing platform Taulia and application security company VeraCode, while sourcing new investments in the healthcare, internet of things, and online security and identity sectors.
RecapHealth is set to wind down as a result and will not seek any new investments, though it will make follow-on investments in its portfolio companies.
