Israel-based equity crowdfunding platform OurCrowd has launched a $10m fund which will invest in some 20 seed and pre-series A stage companies across the world.
OurCrowd First is accepting a minimum of $50,000 from accredited investors, significantly lower than the traditional $1m limit. The fund invests up to $500,000 in each startup.
The fund has already backed six companies across sectors including internet of things, 3D printing, energy, mobile infrastructure and digital radiology: Zebra Medical, Invertex, Turbulent, Stringify, Rimoto and TechSee.
Yori Nelken, general partner of OurCrowd First, said: “Providing money to startups is only one part of the equation.
“We will help each of our companies, to build their management teams, construct, explore and test go-to-market strategies and introduce them to our full ecosystem of support, mentoring and business networks. It is our secret sauce for generating winning companies.”
