China-based big data software provider Oushu has raised an undisclosed amount in a series B round led by software producer Kingsoft’s cloud computing subsidiary, Kingsoft Cloud, PEdaily reported yesterday.
Founded in 2016, Oushu has developed an artificial intelligence-equipped database platform dubbed Oushu Database. Its customers come from industries such as finance and telecommunications as well as the public sector, and include China Construction Bank, China Mobile, State Grid and VMware.
The company had previously raised two rounds in 2017, the first being an angel round of undisclosed size led by Redpoint China Ventures in April. It added RMB$50m ($7.5m) in a series A round six months later featuring Redpoint and Sequoia Capital China, according to 36kr.
Kingsoft Cloud said: “Oushu is a leader in the database field, whose next-generation cloud-native database has great technical advantages in performance and functionality. Going forward, we look forward to working with Oushu to help companies with cloudification and digitisation.” (Translated from Chinese by Global Corporate Venturing.)
