Ovuline, a US-based pregnancy and parenting app developer backed by health insurer Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts, has raised $10m in new funding and rebranded to Ovia Health.
Zaffre Investments, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts’ corporate venturing arm, co-led the round with venture capital firm Martin Ventures, with participation from Lightbank Ventures, LionBird Venture Capital and Techstars Ventures, according to MobiHealthNews.
Ovia operates a digital health platform for women, deployed through specialist fertility, pregnancy and parenting apps. It also runs a marketing services division helping brands advertise to millennial mothers, and will soon add a maternity benefits service.
Zaffre Investments provided $1m of a $3.2m round closed by Ovuline in May 2015 that included Martin Ventures.
The company had raised $2.5m from Lightbank, Launch Capital, LionBird, Techstars CEO David Cohen and Techstars Ventures, then known as Bullet Time Ventures, across two rounds in 2013.
