Networking technology provider Cisco exited US-based storage and data mobility technology developer RStor yesterday in an acquisition of undisclosed size by cloud connectivity technology producer PacketFabric.
RStor provides software which helps businesses manage and control data as they look to move from on-premises storage to hybrid and multi-cloud systems.
Cisco led a $45m series A round for the company announced when it emerged from stealth in 2018, participating through its Cisco Investments subsidiary.
Dave Ward, PacketFabric’s CEO, said: “Data is the currency of digital business success. The agility and velocity of data in motion is key to unlocking its value. But optimal data mobility across a cloud-based architecture requires two key ingredients – an agile network and super-positioned data infrastructure.
“By integrating RStor’s storage infrastructure and data mobility technology at the edge of PacketFabric’s carrier-class network-as-as-service platform, we can help enterprises build an agile and high-performance cloud data core.”
