Panorama Education, a US-based educational data platform developer backed by internet technology provider Google, has received $12m in a series A round co-led by venture capital firms Spark Capital and Owl Ventures.
The company has created an in-school data platform that takes data inputted by students concerning the learning environment, which is tailored around dedicated surveys, and recommends actions that can be taken to improve the school.
The platform is operational in 220 US school districts covering some 3 million students. Panorama aims to increase the size of its 36-strong team by another 20 by the end of 2015, co-founder and CEO Aaron Feuer told EdSurge.
The company, a graduate of accelerator Y Combinator, had raised $4m in a 2013 seed round led by investment foundation Startup:Education that included Google subsidiary Google Ventures, SoftTech VC, A-Grade Investments and Yale University.
