ParAccel exits to Actian

Actian, a US-based data management company owned by private equity firm Garnett & Helfrich Capital, has acquired ParAccel, a US-based data analytics platform previously backed by online retailer Amazon, for an undisclosed amount.

In May last year, ParAccel raised $20m from its existing investors to take its then-total raised to about $93m.

In 2011, ParAccel raised $15m in an Amazon-led E round. Amazon was joined in the series round by ParAccel’s existing investors, Silicon Valley Bank and venture capital (VC) firms Menlo Ventures, Mohr Davidow Ventures, Bay Partners, Walden International and Tao Venture Capital Partners.

Earlier this year, Actian agreed to buy Pervasive Software for about $162m.
