Parsley Health packs in $26m

Parsley Health, a US-based personalised medicine provider backed by over-the-top media company Chernin Group, has secured $26m in a series B round led by technology investment platform White Star Capital.

The round also featured FirstMark Capital, Amplo, Alpha Edison, Arkitekt Ventures, Galaxy Digital and private investors including Nat Turner and Tom Lee. It was closed in the summer of this year but formally announced late last week.

Founded in 2016, Parsley provides personalised healthcare targeted at those suffering from chronic illnesses. It combines advanced diagnostics services and telemedicine with in-person care and prevention activities that take in nutrition and wellness support.

The company operates brick-and-mortar centres in the cities of Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City, and intends to be offering telemedicine services across the US by the end of next year. The series B funds will fuel Parsley’s expansion into additional cities as well as an increase in headcount.

FirstMark led Parsley’s last round, a $10m series A in 2016 that included Chernin Group, Amplo, Combine, Trail Mix Ventures, Nat Turner, Mark Hyman, Neil Parikh and Dave Gilboa.

The series A followed roughly $1.5m in debt financing across 2016 and 2017, and Arkitekt Ventures, FJ Labs and Nexus Venture Partners had been among the company’s earlier backers.
