Victor Pascucci III has left reinsurer Munich Re, where he worked as a partner in its corporate venturing division, to join US-based venture capital firm Lightbank as managing partner.
Pascucci joined Munich Re in June 2016 from financial services firm USAA where, as head of corporate development, he had run its $330m strategic VC initiative.
Prior to being hired by Lightbank, Pascucci was a board member of one of its portfolio companies, online insurance claims platform Snapsheet, for which he oversaw USAA’s investment in 2012.
Pascucci will run Lightbank and take investment advice from the firm’s co-founders, Eric Lefkofsky and Brad Keywell, as they focus on their positions as CEOs of cancer treatment technology startup Tempus and predictive analytics platform developer Keywell respectively.
“I have had the pleasure of working alongside the Lightbank team for years and have been impressed with its willingness to take risks and get in the trenches,” Pascucci said.
“The opportunity to help lead this fund and work with such a tremendous team committed to finding, supporting and building billion-dollar companies is amazing.”
