Mital Patel has been appointed a director of strategic investments at US-headquartered financial services firm Citi.
Patel joined Citi in 2010 as a summer analyst before taking a series of restructuring and investment banking roles in London, New York, Sydney and São Paulo.
Most recently, Patel spent more than two years at Citi’s London office as vice president of strategic and fintech investments.
Citi’s portfolio companies in the UK include fund management platform Zilo and IT payment technology developer Icon Solutions.
In addition to making direct investments, Citi runs a corporate venturing arm called Citi Ventures led by global head Arvind Purushotham.
