Ashish Patel, previously security software firm AVG Technologies as head of the company’s corporate development group, has joined private equity fund manager Aureos Capital as Partner for Asia.
Patel also worked as an advisor to the board of directors of AVG. He was formerly Managing Director of Europe, Middle East and Africa for corporate venturing unit Intel Capital.
In addition to his work at AVG and Intel, where he also worked with online communications companies Expand Networks, Freedom4 and Silicon Hive, Patel had stints at professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, Japanese bank Sanwa, since amalgamated into the BTMU banking group, and private equity firm Actis.
Patel said: "Aureos has a great track record of investing in and growing businesses that lie outside the scope of the traditional private equity players. I am particularly attracted by Aureos’ hands on approach of working closely with its investee companies to ensure they maximise opportunities for profitable growth. I am looking forward to becoming part of that network."
