US-based wireless technology producer Palma Ceia SemiDesign (PCS) received an undisclosed amount of series A funding from China-based semiconductor producer Dongfang Jingyuan Electron yesterday.
PCS manufactures radio frequency transceivers and related devices for wifi networks and 4G mobile phone networks.
The company will use the capital to increase its pipeline and support product development, particularly with a view of expanding into China. Dongfang, a subsidiary of diversified holding firm China Oriental Group, will assist with the expansion efforts.
Jim Flowers, chief operating officer of PCS, said: “Partnering with Dongfang Jingyuan Electron is a key step allowing us to accelerate leading-edge development of radio frequency intellectual property for China and elsewhere.
“I also expect it will enhance our ability to attract top engineering talent in this fast growing market.”
