Pensees pins down series A funding

China-based artificial intelligence (AI) technology developer Pensees Technology has closed a RMB150m ($22.4m) series A round featuring contract electronics manufacturer Foxconn and cybersecurity technology producer Qihoo 360.

Pensees is developing computer vision and internet-of-things technologies for use in sectors like smart manufacturing and security. It will put the funding into strengthening its hardware, software and algorithms.

The round follows an eight-figure renminbi angel round led by Aplus Capital in September 2018, and a similarly undisclosed sum from IDG Capital, Elevation China Capital, Shanggu Capital and Aplus Capital in January 2019.
