US-based talent recruitment and engagement platform developer Phenom People has attracted $30m in a series C round featuring Axa Venture Partners, the corporate venturing arm of insurance firm Axa.
The round was led by investment firm WestBridge Capital and included Sierra Ventures, Omidyar Technology Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures, Karlani Capital and undisclosed additional participants.
Founded in 2011 as iMomentous, Phenom People has created a data-driven software platform that lets human resources agents engage personnel as they apply for positions and then progress with their new employer.
The platform includes a recruitment module that uses automated service chatbots and tools for hiring university graduates, incorporating analytics for employers to forecast potential skills shortages in their workforces. The cash will support Phenom People’s growth plans and brought its total funding to $61m.
Axa Venture Partners led Phenom People’s $22m series B round in mid-2018, investing with Sierra Ventures, Sigma Prime Ventures and Omidyar Ventures. It had previously raised $7.6m in series A funding from investors including Sigma Prime and Sierra Ventures across 2015 and 2016, according to media reports.
The company had secured an undisclosed amount of seed capital from investors including Karlani Capital, Gabriel Investments and assorted angel investors in 2013, according to Technical.ly.
