Pica8, a US-based provider of software defined networking (SDN) technology, secured more than $20m in series C funding on Tuesday from investors including Mitsui Global Investment, part of diversified conglomerate Mitsui.
The round was co-led by WI Harper Group and Aspiro Capital Management and included all the company’s existing backers.
Founded in 2009, Pica8 provides open-network enterprise software and will channel the funding into expanding its product range and strengthening customer engagement and support.
Cross Head, Pacific Venture Partners and existing investor VantagePoint Capital Partners provided $12.5m in series B financing for the company in October 2014 to take its total funding to $19.1m, before Mitsui Global Investment added an undisclosed amount to the round two months later.
