Dataguise, a US-based data management software developer backed by consumer electronics producer Samsung, has been acquired by data encryption technology provider Pkware for an undisclosed sum.
Founded in 2007, Dataguise markets enterprise software that can automate personal information stored across multiple IT systems, in addition to performing analytics and compliance functions.
The acquisition will help Pkware extend its presence in international markets, adding Dataguise’s existing offices in the United States, India, Europe and Canada to its existing operations.
Dataguise closed a $13m series B round in 2013 led by venture capital firm Toba Capital that included an unnamed conglomerate likely to have been Samsung, as corporate venturing subsidiary Samsung Next lists the company in its portfolio.
The series B round came after Dataguise secured $3.3m from backers including private investor Herb Madan in 2011 to increase its overall funding to $7.3m.
