Platform9, a US-based hybrid cloud technology developer backed by IT equipment and technology provider Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), has raised a $12.5m series D extension, completing the round at $37.5m.
Venture capital firm WRVI Capital led the latest tranche, which included Canvas Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Mubadala Ventures, NGP Capital and Redpoint Ventures.
NGP Capital had led a $25m series D close in 2019, and it was joined by HPE’s corporate venturing subsidiary HPE Pathfinder, as well as Canvas Ventures, Menlo Ventures, Mubadala Ventures and Redpoint Ventures. The company had raised $61.5m in total at the time.
Founded in 2013, Platform9 has built software-as-a-service management tools for edge, hybrid and private cloud environments. Cloudera, Juniper Networks, Kingfisher Retail, Redfin and Yext are among its customers.
HPE had already backed a $22m series C round in 2017 led by Canvas Ventures and filled out by returning investors Redpoint Ventures and Menlo Ventures.
