Vehicle company Polaris Industries has led the latest fundraising round of Brammo, a US-based motor-bike manufacturer. Brammo has raised $13m of a planned $45m series C round.
Polaris is both investing and providing opportunities for Brammo’s drivetrain technology to be used in powersports products.
Last year, sporting activity and electric vehicle manufacturer Polaris Industries made an investment of an undisclosed size in electric motorcycle manufacturer Brammo, bringing Brammo’s series B round to $28m.
Other participants in the round, which was initiated in 2010, were investment firm Alpine Energy, private equity firm Northport Investments, corporate venturing unit Best Buy Ventures and venture capital firm Chrysalix. It previously raised $15m in 2008.
Founded in 2002, Brammo has designed, developed and manufactured a range of electric-powered motorcycles.
