Prairie Cloudware, a US-based banking solutions company that allows customers to make payments with their mobile Prairie Cloudware has raised $1.65m round of funding with participation from Nelnet, a local education loans and service provider that has backed more than six start-ups. The round was led by Treetop Ventures and Croghan Investments, owned and operated by Ray Croghan. There was also involvement from Nebraska Global and Tetrad Corporation.
The new funds will be used for product development of prototypes and research.
Kevin Kammer, chief executive of Prairie, said: Our goal is to build a world-class company on the Silicon Prairie that will play a major role in enabling financial institutions to support the customer’s desire to safely use mobile devices to purchase goods and service. With the support of our investors, we have begun building our team and our prototype as we tap into the rich payment and software development expertise available in Omaha, Lincoln and the surrounding areas.” The startup says the capital raised will be used for research and development purposes, as well as for prototyping the startup’s product.
