Premise Data, a US-based market intelligence software provider backed by internet and technology group Alphabet received $85m of series E funding on Wednesday.
Growth equity firm WestCap Group led the round and was joined by trading firm DRW, Vista Equity Partners’ credit lending arm, Vista Credit Partners, NightDragon, Winslow Capital, Valor Equity Partners, 8VC, Communitas Capital, Tao Capital, Hanover Technology Investment Management and Atreides Management.
Premise’s market intelligence platform uses machine learning technology to accumulate and analyse real-time data from a global network of trusted sources which include e-commerce sites and market researchers. It will use the funding to speed up the development of its technology platform.
The company said it has secured over $150m altogether. It raised $5.5m at an undisclosed date from investors including Alphabet investment vehicle GV, Harrison Metal and Bowery Capital, before they returned for an $11m series B round led by Social Capital in 2014.
Valor Equity Partners provided $35m for Premise’s $50m series C round the following year, investing together with Social Capital.
Premise identified Valor Equity Partners, 8VC, Communitas Capital, Tao Capital, Hanover Technology Investment Management and Atreides Management as existing backers, while SK Ventures and Anthemis Group also list it as a portfolio company on their respective websites.
