US-based data analytics technology provider Premise, backed by internet company Google, closed a $50m series C round yesterday led by Valor Equity Partners.
Launched in 2012, Premise has developed a platform that tracks metrics such as price, quality and availability of products and services, collecting data from some 20,000 e-commerce sites and employing a workforce that captures the information in physical stores.
The company currently covers almost 200 locations across 32 countries, and plans to expand into 50 countries by the end of 2015.
In March 2014, Google’s corporate venturing unit Google Ventures backed an $11m series B round led by Social+Capital Partnership. Harrison Metal and Bowery Capital also took part in that round.
The company had previously raised $5.5m in funding from investors including Google Ventures, Harrison and Bowery, though it has not revealed further details.
