Pro.com fixes up $33m series B

Real estate brokerage Redfin has co-led a $33m series B round for US-based online home renovation platform Pro.com with investment banking firm Goldman Sachs and investment fund WestRiver Group.

The round included venture capital firms DFJ, Madrona Venture Group, Maveron and Two Sigma Ventures, and boosted the company’s overall funding to more than $50m.

Founded in 2013, Pro.com has developed software that helps carpenters, landscapers, decorators, electricians, plumbers and roofers plan, manage and price home renovation projects.

The platform is currently live in the US cities of Denver, San Francisco, San Jose, Phoenix and Seattle, and the company plans to use the new funds to expand into new markets, starting with Portland.

Redfin chief executive Glenn Kelman and WestRiver’s founder and CEO, Erik Anderson, will join Pro.com’s board of directors in conjunction with the round, which follows a $10m round in 2017 led by DFJ and backed by Maveron, Madrona and Two Sigma.

Pro.com had raised $14m in a September 2014 round co-led by Maveron and Madrona, having previously collected $3.5m from Andreessen Horowitz, Madrona, Redpoint and Bezos Expeditions earlier the same year.

The company also received an undisclosed amount of funding from Second Century Ventures, the National Association of Realtors’ strategic investment arm, in 2015 after landing a place in its accelerator.
