US-based technology news source Product Hunt has raised $6m in a series A round backed by Google Ventures, internet company Google’s corporate venturing fund, TechCrunch reported on Saturday.
Formed in late 2013, Product Hunt started as a mailing list and then a website on which technology enthusiasts could exchange information on start-up technology. It has now evolved into a larger, more expansive tech curation site.
Andreessen Horowitz led the round, which valued Product Hunt at $22m. It follows a $1m seed round last month that featured Google Ventures, Y Combinator, Betaworks, CrunchFund, Greylock Discovery Fund, Ludlow Ventures, Slow Ventures, SV Angel, Tradecraft, Vayner RSE and assorted angel investors.
