Irish state-owned enterprise support agency Enterprise Ireland launched an aviation and aerospace-focused accelerator called Propeller Shannon on Monday, with support from several corporate partners.
The partners include aerospace company Boeing, airline booking software provider Datalex, conglomerate Shannon Group’s International Aviation Services Centre and DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurs, an incubator created by Dublin City University and the family of entrepreneur Tony Ryan.
Propeller Shannon will invite 10 teams to form its first cohort, which will be located in the Shannon Free Zone innovation hub near Shannon Airport.
The three-month scheme will help startups build and commercially validate their technologies. Boeing and Datalex will provide mentoring and access to their networks.
The initiative is part of Enterprise Ireland’s mission to boost the number of startups that employ more than 10 people and achieve €1m ($1.2m) in export sales within three years of being founded – dubbed “high potential startups” by the agency.
