China-based diversified app developer Holaverse secured $70m yesterday from investors including internet company and cybersecurity software provider Qihoo 360 Technology.
Addor Capital led the round, which also featured fellow venture capital firm Yi Capital and undisclosed additional institutional investors. Private equity advisory firm Winsoul Capital acted as financial adviser.
Holaverse offers a range of mobile apps including a launcher for the Android operating system, a lockscreen manager, a swipe-based app organiser and a mobile game platform.
The company’s apps have been downloaded a total of 460 million times since the first one was launched in December 2014.
The funds will support the expansion of Holaverse’s team, global growth, and research and development, with the company planning to roll out additional apps soon. Particular focus will go to its game platform and social networking services.
