Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of US-listed technology company Qualcomm, has expanded its team in Europe, the US and Latin America.
Carlos Kokron has joined as managing director of Latin America based in São Paulo, Brazil, after previous roles including as director of Intel Capital for Latin America and Southwest US and as a partner at Stratus Group in Brazil responsible for the firm’s growth capital platform.
In addition, Gareth Keane will be joining Qualcomm Ventures’ US team based out of the Bay area in California after previously working at Texas Instruments following its merger with National Semiconductor.
Finally, Qualcomm Ventures has replaced Frederic Rombaut, who left to join tech peer Cisco, by promoting Miles Kirby from a role as senior director of business development at Qualcomm.
Nagraj Kashyap, head of Qualcomm Ventures, said Kirby would co-lead its European ventures operations along with Jason Ball, with both based in London, UK.
Kashyap added: “Qualcomm Ventures is expanding its global team with the finest corporate venturing experts in the industry so we can better help the great entrepreneurs we meet.”
