Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of US-based semiconductor company Qualcomm, has participated in a $4.6m Series A for ClearCare, a provider of software products for home health-care. The $4.6m amount also included seed round funding.
Venture Capital firm Voyager Capital led the round. There was also involvement from Harbor Pacific Capital, a provider of early to growth stage capital.
Jack Young, a director of Qualcomm Ventures, said: “We see natural synergy with ClearCare’s platform,Qualcomm offers a growing variety of in-home wireless health solutions, and data from these technologies ultimately has to be delivered and leveraged by all the constituencies in the care ecosystem. ClearCare’s platform is well-positioned to get in-home data to the parties that need it and make it actionable.”
Young added: “Aging in place is a mega trend with 10,000 boomers turning 65 every day and the senior population doubling in the next 20 years.”
