Qualcomm leads $10m series C for Predilytics

US-based healthcare IT analytics provider Predilytics has secured $10m in a series C round led by Qualcomm Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of mobile communications technology provider Qualcomm.

Venture capital firms Flybridge Capital Partners, Foundation Medical, and Highland Capital also contributed to the round, which will support growth that has enabled Predilytics to reportedly double its customer base this year.

The funding increased the company’s overall funding to $20.5m, following a $6m series A round in 2012 backed by Google Ventures, internet company Google’s corporate venturing unit, Flybridge and Highland, and a $4.5m investment by Foundation in September 2013.

Jack Young, senior director for Qualcomm Ventures, said: “We believe applying big data and analytics technologies to healthcare is becoming increasingly important.

“Predilytics’ approach of leveraging their consumer data set is unique in healthcare. We are pleased to collaborate with the company as it continues to drive technology innovation in the rapidly changing healthcare space.”
