Quixey searches out SK Planet

An innovation platform of SK Telecom has helped Quixey, a US-based search engine for applications, raise $20m.

SK Planet, which was set up last year, was joined in the series B round by venture firms Atlantic Bridge Capital, TransLink Capital, US Venture Partners, WI Harper Group and Innovation Endeavors, a firm founded by search engine Google’s executive chairman Eric Schmidt. The round takes Quixey to $24.2m raised since it was founded in 2009.

Quixey was also backed by Webb Investment Network, a venture capital firm started by the chairman of data centre management company LiveOps, in its series A last year.
