Ramp raises $15m Series C

Ramp, a US based content optimization web platform, has raised $15m in Series C funding backed by Comcast Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of US-based media company Comcast. The round was led by venture capital firm StarVest Partners who fund technology-enabled business services companies throughout the US.

The C round also saw participation from previous investors Fairhaven Capital, Accel Partners, General Catalyst Partners. Hearst Interactive Media and EDBI also participated in the round. Ramp has so far raised $40m in capital, including $3.5m raised in 2010 and $8.25 in 2009, since being founded in 2006. Ramp’s SaaS platform is used by FOX, CNBC and PBS among others.

Darcy Frisch, vice president, Hearst Interactive Media, said: “RAMP has developed robust capabilities and is serving many of Hearst’s digital media properties. The team’s vision for what’s next in online video is incredibly compelling. We’re excited to help the Company capitalize on major growth opportunities ahead for both media and enterprise.”

The latest investment will allow Ramp to enhance its video solutions and focus on global expansion
